"Kitchen Test Drive" is a service from Blum that allows you to experience and test the designed kitchen on a 1:1 scale before moving forward with the project. Thanks to special mobile cabinets, the kitchen layout can be set up in full size to check arrangement of kitchen equipment, hand reach, and ease of use.
Kasia Kolenda from Blum Inspirations met Marta and Łukasz for a short interview where they told us about their experience. Here is a fragment of the conversation.
Blum Inspirations: Łukasz, what prompted you to take advantage of the Kitchen Test Drive?
Łukasz Wrotecki: The idea came when we started building our house. Initially, we used cabinets from my in-laws' old kitchen. We were saving up for our dream kitchen, and we wanted to plan everything carefully to create something that truly meets our requirements.
Blum Inspirations: Did you come to the Kitchen Test Drive with your own design?
Łukasz Wrotecki: Yes, but a consultant from Blum helped us refine it even further. We gained more storage space, organized the pantry, and fitted in our dream kitchen island.
Blum Inspirations: Who was more in charge of this project – you or Marta?
Łukasz Wrotecki (laughs): It was a duet! We tested everything together: the layout, the heights, the drawer functions.

From Visualization to Reality
After the Kitchen Test Drive, it was time to act. Łukasz and Marta tackled the kitchen themselves – from planning through to assembly.

Blum Inspirations: What do you enjoy most about your kitchen, and what might you change?
Łukasz Wrotecki: The handles, which have sharp edges – that’s the only thing we would improve. And what makes us happy? Everything else 😊. That is exactly what we dreamed of. When cooking daily, we feel the kitchen is tailor-made for us.
