In the Bechter's home, everything is perfectly coordinated: the family has made the best use of the available storage space and a walnut design element is carried through the entire house, from the hallway to the bathroom.

Oskar and Daniela Bechter live with their two children Raúl and Elena in their house in Vorarlberg, Austria. The first unit catches your eye as soon as you enter the hallway. The attractive and organised hall stand offers enough space for the whole family's jackets, shoes and accessories.

"My wife had a special drawer designed for her collection of scarves. You can open it right out," reveals Oskar, adding with a grin: "It's a mystery to me why one person needs so many, but at least they're tidy and always within reach in here." The TANDEM runner for wooden drawers has a feather-light glide and soft close, regardless of how many scarves are stored inside. And it can take much heavier items as well.

No more banging doors!

Winter hats, gloves and slippers are kept in the upper part of the cabinet. "Doors don't slam any more in our home," the home-owner tells us, adding: "I certainly wouldn't want to do without that." The CLIP top BLUMOTION hinge with integrated soft-close mechanism means cabinet doors close softly and effortlessly.

Something extra special in the living room

"Our stove fitter had the brilliant idea of using the parquet panels we used for the floor as the cabinet fronts as well," explains Oskar Bechter. "Handles just wouldn't have looked right, which is why we decided to go for electrical opening." The SERVO-DRIVE motion technology opens drawers electrically at a single touch and closes them softly and effortlessly.

"But that's not all," adds Daniela. The sides of the TANDEMBOX pull-outs are also customised. "It was so difficult to decide on which material would go with our tiled stove and the parquet flooring. The warm look of the leather makes it really special," comments the mother of two. This carries the design through the living room too.

In the bathroom: a clever room divider to provide more storage space

The walnut material also takes centre stage in the bathroom: "As well as continuing the style element in this room, it was also really important to me to have enough storage space. We achieved this using a clever layout and a room divider," explains Daniela.

In the cabinet under the wash basin, every family member has their own pull-out: "This drawer is mine and mine alone," says son Raúl with pride. This is where he keeps his plastic toys for bath time along with his care products. The practical ORGA-LINE inner dividing system keeps things tidy, making it easier to find what is needed.

Hidden storage space behind the mirror

Mum's cosmetics, perfumes and medication for the family fit nicely behind the big mirror, keeping them out of the children's reach. The unobtrusive CRISTALLO hinge gives you large mirror doors on the outside and inside. "It's an elegant solution that fits in perfectly with the design features of our house while also giving us more space," sums up Oskar.
