Neat, tidy and space efficient

Home workspaces have become a permanent fixture in most houses and apartments since the pandemic. And even if there's no need for a home office, it's always handy to have a desk and storage space for important paperwork. And a practical solution is a must – these items need to be neatly stored when not in use. Workspaces that are used only occasionally should take up as little living space as possible.

Based on our global observations from Blum's requirements research, we used our products to design a home office solution that offers the best of both worlds: Enough room for everything a home office needs, while also taking up very little space in the living area.

Here's how our home office furniture does it:

  • The desk has a base cabinet with drawers on one side , leaving plenty of workspace on the desk itself.

  • The tall cabinet on the other side has more drawers and shelving which includes two pull-out shelves. This, and the wall cabinet with lift system, are designed to the size of the files and so are not as deep as the base unit.

  • For easy-access storage space, drawersare arranged on either side of the workspace.

  • Inner dividing systemskeep paper clips, pens and other small items organised.

  • Practical pull-out shelves are a handy place to store things such as printers, while also providing easy access when they are required.

  • A lift system in the wall cabinet means the extra storage space is easily accessed, even when seated.

Everything to hand

Drawers are located on the right and left beneath the workspace and are easily accessed.

The depth of the desk top is fully utilised, allowing for very deep drawers with plenty of space for office paraphernalia and small items. By using drawers of different heights , folders and files can also be stored here within easy reach.

This is therefore the ideal place for storing frequently used items. The advantage of drawers is that they simply pull out to reveal the entire contents at a glance. Inner dividing systemsmean everything has its place and is quick and easy to find.

Plus, sensitive documents can be protected from prying eyes with the locking system from Blum, which is available for different drawer types and heights.

Thanks to drawers in different sizes, you'll have space for practically all your documents and those bits and pieces you need in your home office.

Everything at a glance: inner dividing systems bring order to chaos, saving important time at the desk.

Pull-out shelf delivers flexibility

Although the paperless office is on many wish lists, we're unfortunately not quite there yet – so a printer or scanner is usually essential in any home office. To avoid wasting valuable desk space, these devices are best stored on a pull-out shelf. In this version of the home office, the pull-out shelf is situated in the tall cabinet next to the desk. This way, it's easy to reach even when seated, quickly accessible and swiftly hidden away again.

This office furniture also accommodates a second pull-out shelf built into the tall cabinet. It's hidden behind the door of the cabinet and – thanks to – is accessed with a light touch . When in use, documents or folders can be placed on the pull-out shelf which is providing extra work space. then, when the extra surface is no longer needed, simply release the pull-out shelf lock with a single touch– and just like that, the pull-out shelf disappears into the cabinet and the home office looks neat and tidy again.

Scan, print or copy and then whisk everything away again – it's no problem with office equipment on pull-out shelves.

The pull-out shelf is perfect for storing documents and folders, and keeping them together. As soon as everything is taken care of, the pull-out shelf disappears into the cabinet and the home office is neat and tidy again.

The pull-out shelf lock prevents the pull-out shelf moving during work. All it takes is a single touch, and the pull-out shelf lock is released again.

Designed for a clear head

A wall cabinet is fitted above the desk for additional storage space and comes equipped with a stay lift. The advantage of this solution is that the wide cabinet front opens upwards and glides up and out of the user's way, keeping the head area clear at all times. The wall cabinet can also stay open without blocking access to the tall cabinet next to it. Our demo furniture is fitted with the  by Blum. The lift system stays exactly where you want it to (thanks to the variable stop) and is always within easy reach for closing.

This furniture is not only ideal for the home office; for example, artists and those who love crafting can also benefit from a workplace like this in their homes. Sewing materials, scissors and coloured pencils for the next DIY project are neatly stored, easy to find, and quickly put away again once the masterpiece is complete.

All advantages at a glance:

  • Drawers in different sizes around the desk provide the ideal storage space for files and office knick-knacks

  • Inner dividing systems take drawers to the next level in organisation

  • With a pull-out shelf, devices such as printers are quickly ready for use – and just as quickly stowed away again

  • A tall cabinet is ideal for large files, while a pull-out shelf can be used as an additional, retractable surface

  • Fronts fitted with stay lifts glide up and out of the user's way
